Making and securing your own planting containers
You do not need to be an expert to create your personal hanging flowerbed or vegetable garden.
Hanging plant bed
It is easy to assemble a hanging plant bed using material from yards. The bed can be populated with different containers to look colourful. One only needs to safely fit it to the ceiling.
Ensure that securing parts have the right carrying capacity(because after adding water to the bed it will weigh about 18kg)
Equipment
(NB: galvanized parts are more durable)

1 metal grid. If you are going to use a fruit crate as a plant container a 40m by 60cm grid will be adequate

4 circular steel-link chains of 100cm in length each. They should have a carrying capacity of 18kg

4 s-hooks to attach securely to the metal grid

1 adjustable chain link with thread to bring the 4 chains together at the top

1 block and tackle to lower and raise the plants for watering
Assembling the hanging bed
1. on each corner of the metal grid attach a chain using an s-hook
2. collect the 4 chains together at the top by using an adjustable link
3. attach the block and tackle to the ceiling and fix the rope
4. suspend the hanging bed from the block and tackle
