This is much better than leaving your treasured Cacti with an inexperienced neighbour. All you need to do if you are going away for a while is, water and fertilize the plant(s) thoroughly before you go. If you are growing Cacti in a balcony box or a greenhouse, you will need to provide sufficient ventilation if you go away in Summer and if you go away in Winter you must turn the heating on.
