Calabrese F1 Marathon by Gardening Direct: Calabrese (green sprouting broccoli) is increasing in popularity each year. It has a much milder flavour than traditional purple types. Marathon has large blue-green heads and has good disease resistance. Despatched Mid MayPlanting and CareWill grow in poor soil but thrives in very fertile, well drained soil (add lime if your soil is acidic). Prefers a warm, sheltered site and protect from birds. Keep mulch around the plants to preserve moisture and ensure that plants never dry out. Add nitrogen top dressing if grown in poor soil. Harvest From October
