"5 Courgette Defender" by Gardening Direct: Courgette, also know as zucchini, are probably the most popular of all the marrow family vegetables. Pick when the courgettes are 10cm (4in) long, this variety will produce a very heavy, regular crop. Courgettes require space, allow 90cm between plants. Defender is resistant to Mosaic Virus, common in courgettes and cucumbers. Despatched Early MayPlanting and CarePlant in well drained, rich, manured soil with a low nitrogen level. Grow in a sheltered, sunny position and keep moist especially during the flowering and fruiting stages. Feed regularly with an organic liquid feed during fruiting and protect from slugs. Harvest from mid summer
