Generous 6" (15cm) deep aluminium Plunge Propagating Trays designed to be used as a plunge area (e.g. for alpines) by filling with coarse sand or gravel or turn it into a heated propagating tray by adding a soil warming cable.
Braced corners & top edges for added strength.
If you would like a hole made for access for your warming cable please e-mail immediately after placing your order with the hole position required.
When full & damp these trays will be very heavy, be sure to put them on a STRONG bench & definitely DO NOT try to LIFT them.

A few suggestions for making a propagation area:
Start with a 2" (5cm) layer of coarse grit or capillary aggregate, cover with 1" (2.5cm) of coarse sand (not builders sand) then lay out your soil warming cable & cover with a further 1" (2.5cm) of coarse sand.
On top of this put either growing medium for the direct rooting of cuttings; or more sand (or capillary aggregate) into which seed trays or pots of seedlings/cuttings can be placed.
